The C-Agricultural Research and Development Network in Upper Central Thailand organized a training project on collecting local resource data using 9 worksheets.
On November 2-3, 2023, the Regional Learning Network Center, as the thematic network operator of the Royal Project for Plant Genetic Conservation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, in the upper central region (C-PGCP Network, upper central region), organized a training project on collecting local resource data using 9 worksheets. This was under the project to verify and import local resource data into the PGCP resource database. The project was attended by 39 participants, including project staff, trainers, personnel from the PGCP coordination centers at Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi and Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, local government officials, and personnel from the PGCP main coordination center at Chulalongkorn University.
Within the project, Assistant Professor Dr. Noppadol Kitna, Director of the Regional Learning Network Center, presided over the opening ceremony and served as a speaker, lecturing on the methods and preparation of Worksheet 8. Assistant Professor Daranai Robmuang from the Plant Genetic Conservation Coordination Center - Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi gave a presentation on the methods and preparation of Worksheets 1-3.
Assistant Professor Wansa Phromsilp from the Coordination Center for the Plant Genetic Conservation Project - Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi gave a presentation on the methods and preparation of Worksheet 4 and Worksheet 9.
Assistant Professor Dr. Matanaporn Maikami from the Coordinating Center for the Plant Genetic Conservation Project - Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University gave a presentation on the methods and preparation of Worksheet 5.
Dr. Phanupong Thammachot Charoonroj, from the Coordinating Center for the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Ministry of Public Health - Chulalongkorn University, gave a presentation on the methods and preparation of Worksheet 6.
Associate Professor Dr. Chatchawan Jaisuekul from the Coordinating Center for the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Ministry of Public Health - Chulalongkorn University, gave a presentation on the methods and preparation of Worksheet 7.
Dr. Chawathat Thanusingh and Dr. Rachata Maneein from the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Coordination Center - Chulalongkorn University gave a presentation on the use of the iNaturalist application and Google Lens.
Ms. Sararat Thanamai from the Coordinating Center for the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives - Chulalongkorn University gave a presentation on recording coordinates, mapping, and using the Timestamp application.
Mr. Chawin Saengchai from the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Coordination Center - Chulalongkorn University; Mr. Methee Thukbaep from the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Coordination Center - Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University; Ms. Pensiri Paijit from the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Coordination Center - Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University; and Ms. Kanokporn Boonhao from the Plant Genetic Conservation Project Coordination Center - Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi participated in a lecture and practical training session on the topic of applying for and using the Plant Genetic Conservation Project database system.
This training aims to enable project personnel to participate in fulfilling the royal initiative of the Plant Genetic Conservation Project under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, as well as to support the survey and collection of local resources (9 worksheets) into the Plant Genetic Conservation Project's resource database system during November and December 2023. The training also aims to equip project personnel with the knowledge and understanding of project operations to record worksheet data into the Plant Genetic Conservation Project's database. Furthermore, the Plant Genetic Conservation Project's coordination centers at Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, and Chulalongkorn University's main coordination center will serve as mentors to the project personnel. Four local administrative organizations are participating: Pakkret City Municipality, Ban Mai Subdistrict Municipality, Nong Yao Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and Khlong Si Subdistrict Administrative Organization.
